Hello World! My name is George Rodier. As this is my first blog post, I thought I’d introduce myself as you join along on this journey of thinking, discovering, learning, and teaching.
I’m a software developer living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I currently lead a team of developers building a ‘DropBox-like’ web application that allows users to interface with the datasource/project management software the company I work for creates. My role involves managing the members on my team, keeping them on track, and helping them grow as developers. In addition, I manage the backlog for the product, architect solutions to new product integrations and dev ops pipelines, as well as implement and deliver new features myself.
I’ve learned a lot in the past couple years as I’ve engrossed myself in the world of web development. There’s a good amount I know, have learned, and can share with you. And I’m excited to do just that. But there’s a ton of areas where I’m still weak and learning. So I’d love to share my findings there as well. The world of web development is constantly changing and as a result is a never ending journey of learning and applying that knowledge. It’s not something I had thought about when I started to study computer science, but is one of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with it.
